Carrying forward the momentum of India’s Green Revolution following the legacy of Dr. M. S. Swaminathan, Dr.Paroda helped shape agricultural science as a global enterprise. From his early work addressing the persistent challenge of fodder security to his pioneering efforts in genetic resource conservation, he played a defining role in building the institutions that today strengthen our food systems and nurture new generations of scientists.
As Secretary, Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE), he articulated India’s first national Food Vision, advancing agriculture beyond production toward a future of sustainability, resilience, and rural prosperity.
